How to read very quickly

All over the world thousands of pages with new information are printed every minute. Of course a person is not able to read everything that is printed. But if you read 50 pages a day you will read during your life only 3000 books. Everybody knows that reading more in our time is a fundamental to success. And if you read quickly it saves your time and efforts.

People get 90% of information by the use of eyesight. One of the main ways of getting information is reading. That's why the most important feature of this process is rate (speed).

Some people can really read at a gallop getting through the text more quickly then an average man. Fast reading is a feature of complex mind, concentrated attention and trained eyesight.

But why do the majority of people read slowly? Some people read in pronouncing words in their mind. They move their lips, their tongue. This method limits rate to 120-150 words a minute. How to get rid of this habit? You should set your teeth firmly and repeat while reading something interesting and light: one, two, three, four... Your eyes will get accustomed to apprehend the text without vocalization.

If you want to become proficient in fast or dynamic reading then learn to:

- let your eyes rove top-down instead of left to right;

- catch groups of words at a sight;

- try to stop seldom; don't reread a word or a phrase;

- train yourself everywhere and every minute. Try to remember numbers of cars, titles on posters, texts on advertisements at a sight.

More words you will catch at a sight more quickly you will read. Don't stop if you don't understand the meaning of some words. Try to understand the general sense of what you're reading. This method increases rate on 10-15%. (But it is not acceptable when you're reading works of art).

Train yourself every day. Start your reading from small fragments. Then increase their volume. Give yourself specific tasks: for example to read a book of 200 pages for 3 hours.

And we can give you an advice: don't mix up reading as a perception of beauty and reading as an acquirement of information.
