Is possible to knock off a genius?

Life seems wonderful at first sight. Especially wonderful it seems with respect to our children. They are protected by many laws. Governments of many developed countries have already adopted special rules which restrict brutal attitude to children and if these rules are violated, parents may face criminal prosecution. They can also face annulment and be sent to prison for child abuse. Social workers ask children very carefully how their parents treat them. This fact restrains parents and makes them refuse from harsh ways of upbringing.

On the other hand these laws can't help in all situations. It is especially true when parents want to make their children brilliant. Social workers don't see anything bad in this parental wish. The most horrible thing is that parents usually don't ask their children whether they want to be brilliant or not. Children have to submit to parental requirements and take up this burden.

Child's psyche is very vulnerable and shouldn't be treated in such a way. It can lead to serious nervous breakdowns and disturbances. Overload and overwork is even harder for children than for grown-ups. When children sit at home and make their home task for their music lessons and look at the window and see their peers playing football, they feel very bad. They are depressed and humiliated. It is wrong to make a child implement parents' unfulfilled plans. It is cruel and brutal. Protect your child from overload, don't require from it too much. Remember your own childhood and problems you had at that time.
