Supernatural abilities in extreme situations

All of us have heard stories about supernatural abilities of people, when they appeared in emergencies. The majority of these situations represented danger to one's life. Indeed, fear has big eyes. Weak become extremely strong, scared become brave, diffident become resolute and so on. What does it mean and why does it happen? This indicates the fact that we do have undisclosed reserves and in case of extreme need we use them unconsciously. In such situations self-protective instinct snaps into action. People have such a strong wish to live that they become able to marvels. When they understand that nobody is going to protect them, they begin to rely on themselves only, as they don't have any other ways out. Fear makes people do unbelievable deeds.

There is an instinct, which is even stronger than biophilia. It is maternal instinct. Mother is always ready to protect her children till death. The fact that this instinct is inherent in animals as well proves the idea that human beings inherited it from their faraway ancestors. It has nothing to do with conscious responsibility, conscious choice in borderline situation and so on. In such cases a mother doesn't make any choice, because she simply doesn't have time for it. This is a natural instinct, which works automatically.

The main condition for manifestation of supernatural abilities in extreme situations is suddenness. When you don't have time to think everything over, you become extremely resolute. The slightest procrastination can make you absolutely defenceless before death threat. In these situations time is your main enemy.
