The limit of human abilities
Nowadays many people push themselves to the limit. This is caused by the frenzied rhythm of our life. People have to work more and more. Rapid growth of technological and economic progress requires quick actions and responsible decisions. Lack of qualified specialists and broad speciality workers creates conditions for overwork and overstrain. Many workers have to take up several positions at once. It is very difficult to combine a lot of tasks simultaneously but life's like that. Workload is increasing day by day and the only reason which makes employees put up with this situation is wage increase. We should admit that employees connive at overwork themselves because they want to earn more money. Such is the law of life, the more you work, the more you earn. Despite all difficulties and fatigue, employees agree to fulfil more tasks in order to get more money, to be promoted and make a career. They create favourable atmosphere and facilities for job enlargement and prompt their bosses and chiefs to give a huge amount of job to them. Some people get accustomed to such a strain and put up with the fact that they are almost deprived of rest and leisure, as they often take work for weekends. They understand that this is the only way for them to provide themselves with higher standards of living. They prefer to put up with overwork and overstrain than with poverty or constant lack of money for their increasing demands. Others can't bear such an overload, but go on working much and it often causes horrible consequences. These consequences are nervous breakdowns, derangement of memory, permanent stress and depression. It is terrible to think but all these consequences are not final. That is not the end of it. Final consequence of all these disturbances is madness. Of course it doesn't mean that overwork will inevitably lead to insanity. It depends on the personality, but it is quite possible for people with weak nervous system.
At first you must take a sober view of things and assess your real abilities. It is often difficult to do it speculatively. It becomes clear in the process of working. Follow your state and try to notice the slightest abnormalities. If you think that you experience constant fatigue and overstrain, you'd better refuse the job, where you have to do a lot of work. Think of priorities. You are not able to earn all money of the world. What is better for you: temporal satisfaction from a large sum of money or spending the rest of your life at hospital or at home and be content with your disability grant? Don't go the limit. Spare yourself and don't take more work than you can fulfil.
